At Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley, we believe that every young person deserves safe, supportive spaces where they can learn, grow, and thrive. That mission isn’t possible without one key ingredient: people willing to give their time, energy, and heart. Our 25+ volunteers play a critical role at our club and their involvement matters more than you may realize.

Paul, who volunteers in our Yerington clubhouse kitchen, state’s “Everyone here is friendly, they’ve all accepted me, and I feel like part of family and part of something bigger than myself.” Many of our volunteers have expressed a similar sentiment demonstrating you’re not just giving by volunteering with the Club, but you are getting something intangible and rewarding back. The positive impact on youth, the inspiration for volunteers from helping youth reach their potential, to our team’s deep commitment to our local communities is something that sets the Club apart from other volunteer work.

Core Benefits to Volunteering at the Club:

You Make an Impact Every Day
Whether you’re helping with homework during our “Power Hour,” assisting in the kitchen with our food programs, or just spending time being a positive, caring presence your contribution can be transformative for a child. A few hours each week can bring encouragement, structure, and support to kids who may not get them elsewhere.

Enrich Your Own Life
When you volunteer, you get more than you give. You’ll form new relationships with the youth and our welcoming team and gain a sense of purpose. There’s a deep satisfaction in seeing the smiles, hearing the gratitude, or watching a child’s confidence grow.

Strengthen the Community
Volunteering isn’t just about helping one child, it’s about uplifting our communities as a whole. Our volunteers build bridges between generations, foster empathy, and contribute to a stronger, more connected community. A stronger community means safer neighborhoods, more opportunities, and brighter futures for all of us.
