Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley distributes meals during closure

While sites are opening and school is wrapping up in Lyon and Mineral County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley will continue to serve, hand out and deliver meals in Yerington, Dayton, Silver Springs and Hawthorne.
UPDATED JUNE 1
Meals, breakfast and lunch during the summer months, are distributed twice a week with Monday and Tuesday’s meals available on Monday and meals for Wednesday through Friday available on Wednesday. Families in Yerington, Dayton and Silver Springs will have meals delivered and the community of Hawthorne can pick up at the Club’s parking lot. Meals will be delivered and available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday and Wednesday. To get on the delivery list, please contact Christina Hurt at christina@bgcmasonvalley.org or by calling 463-2334.
A Club membership is not required for pickup or delivery, and the service is open to anyone ages 18 or under. Youth attending Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley will be served breakfast and lunch daily at our sites.
“This is a crazy time for our families, and we wanted to help support the school districts’ efforts to keep a little normalcy in life,” chief professional officer Travis Crowder said. “Keeping our kids fed is something we pride ourselves on, and something we’re thrilled we can continue to do through the closures of our sites.”
